Rules – Barcelona Football 7 Festival

Levels of Competitiveness

This is a social football festival and NOT a competitive football tournament. The results of games are not listed. All teams are winners as long as they participate in the spirit of the Barcelona Football 7 Festival; Fun, Friendship and Fraternity.

The game shall be played over two 13-minute periods.

Boots you cannot wear any metal/aluminium studs. It is prohibited by the groundsmen and organiser’s all players must use either plastic, moulded, rubber or blades for playing.

That being said, there is room for differing levels of competitiveness. Teams will be grouped according to their choice to ensure that everyone plays the sort of game they want.

Teams/Clubs can register a maximum of 2 teams in each league.

Men’s Seniors Competition matches for teams consisting mainly of players +18 y.o with a minimum squad of 10 players. There is no limit of players.

Teams play 3 league matches in a league of 4 and according to the final ranking (1st to 4th), they will play the Golden Cup, Silver Cup, Bronze Cup or Copper Cup.

The winner of each Cup will play a maximum of 5 matches.

Men’s Seniors Social matches for teams consisting mainly of players +18 y.o with a minimum squad of 8 players. There is no limit of players.

Teams, who want to have a fun game of football, play 3 league matches in a league of 4 without any final ranking, responding to the real Festival Spirit. The best 4/6 striking teams will play 2/3 different finals.

Men’s Veterans Competition matches for teams consisting mainly of players +18 y.o with a minimum squad of 10 players. There is no limit of players.

Teams play 3 league matches in a league of 4 and according to the final ranking (1st to 4th), they will play the Golden Cup or the Silver Cup.

The winner of each Cup will play a maximum of 5 matches.

Men’s Veterans Social matches for teams consisting mainly of players +35 with a minimum squad of 8 players. There is no limit of players.

Ladies Competition Players +18 y.o, with competitive matches.

Teams play 3 league matches in a league of 4 and according to the final ranking (1st to 8th), they will play a final match : Golden Final (1st team of each league) or Consolation Match (3rd to 8th).

Ladies Veterans Social matches for teams consisting mainly of players +35 with a minimum squad of 8 players. There is no limit of players.

Teams, who want to have a fun game of football, play 3 league matches in a league of 4 without any final ranking, responding to the real Festival Spirit.

Walking Football Players +18 y.o, mixed gendered with a minimum squad of 8 players. There is no limit of players.

Teams, who want to enjoy playing football in a soft way (no tackles, no offside, kicked lineouts, mini 1 foot on the ground)

The Football 7 Festival Rules

The normal rules of Football as per the International Football Federation (FIFA) (Tackles allowed) shall apply with the following variations:

· An Offside Line is marked at 5,50 meters of the goalposts.

· The cage measures 6 meters (wide) by 2 meters (high).

· The substitutions of players are unlimited and can be realized at any moment of the match.

· A player cautionned by a yellow card will have to leave immediately the field during 5 mns and can be substitued by a new player. A player cautionned by a red card will be immediately sent off and excluded from the tournament.

· A team having a violent, unrespectful and undecent behaviour with the referee and the other teams will be automatically excluded from the tournament. The captain of each team is in charge of the behaviour of all his players and will be considered as responsible for any violent act.

· The referee will be the only official organization member on the field with power to blow all the lineaouts, faults, offsides, penalties … Please help him in his work and overall respect his decisions.

· In case of equality in the ranking, the team with the best goal average will be qualified. If the teams have the same goal average, then the best striking team will be qualified.
